The White Post Day Nursery is a vibrant and happy place, with a whole range of activities taking place throughout the day. Here we briefly describe one day for one child at the Nursery…

7.30am A long day ahead so it’s important we early arrivers have plenty of energy. Breakfast includes a choice of cereal and toast, before the action begins...

8.00am First play of the day - it's raining outside so we get out some of the indoor toys and have some great fun - there's always lots of new and different toys.

9.15am Tidy up!

9.30am Focus activity in the Blue Room. Today we are looking at the 'letter of the week'. There are only a few children to each group so we can learn lots of things about the letter. We also get well-earned snacks of raisins and cheese cubes with a drink of milk or water.

11.00am Time for more play - the sun's come out so it's on with the coat and out we go into the safe courtyard which has that lovely bouncy surface with lots of great outdoor toys, or the grassy area for a game of football.

12.00am Lunch - and today it's chicken pasta bake followed by cornflake tart and custard, with apple to finish off.

1.00pm Free play inside with all activities on offer while lunch settles before another session of focus activity. This afternoon it's talking and listening to each other.

1.30pm Yoga Nutz - this is where we can use up loads of energy and at the same time practice things like balancing and co-ordination from a real expert.

2.00pm A biscuit and a glass of water is just what we all need after the yoga session, followed by a choice of outdoor or indoor play, including creative play, sand and water, and other activities, to finish off another busy day.

3.30pm Tea time and some beans on toast, a flapjack and a drink of milk or water.

4.00pm Time for play until mummy or daddy arrive to take me home.
